11th May, 2013 was the day when a political war started with the win of Pakistan Muslim League (N) in the General Elections.
The battle extended when PTI chief Imran Khan raised his voice over his failure in the general elections and started ‘Dharnas’ in the capital. He ended his protest after the severe massacre of Peshawar Army Public school but dint step back from his decision of protest.
The wave of protest was continued when the time of by-elections arrived and PTI, MQM and JI became the parts of this battle.
Karachi’s NA 246 constituency is nothing short of a battleground at this time as the archrival candidates go all in to win what is being viewed as the election decisive of Karachi’s destiny.
Candidates from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamat-e-Islami for National Assembly (NA) constituency NA-246 Karachi were hopeful for success in upcoming by-election. Meanwhile, JI candidate Rashid Naseem also showed hope for his win.
The PTI candidate from NA-246 Karachi, Imran Ismail said that we are intended to contest the by-election, not to fight a war. MQM nominee Kunwar Naveed said that residents of the constituency have been showing their trust in the MQM for last 28 years.
It should be mentioned that election campaign by the political parties is also in full swing in the said constituency, whatever the result would be, but mounting political tensions have surely heightened the significance of the by-election.
The day arrived which raised a number of questions in the minds of people,
Do they have the winning vote for NA-246?
Can MQM beat PTI and JI in its own locality?
A big question is that why PPP and PMLN not want to see PTI in Karachi NA-246 election ?
Let’s do fingers crossed!!
