ISLAMABAD: An extensive plan was conceived on Saturday for the removal of stranded Pakistanis in Yemen as two PIA planes were assigned for the evacuation, Aaj News reported.
Two PIA planes were ready to take off as soon they get a green signal from aviation authorities and Pakistan Embassy.
Most of the airports have stopped functioning, resulting an evacuation VIA vehicles to the neighboring countries of Yemen. From there they will be sent back to Pakistan VIA airplanes.
PM Nawaz Sharif further instructed all the concerned departs to take all the possible measures to bring every Pakistani in a safety. The PM is himself observing the whole situation.
560 is the unofficial figure of Pakistani’s that are left in lurch in the capital city of Yemen, Sanaa. According to Pakistan foreign ministry an estimated 2,145 Pakistani’s are currently residing in Yemen.
As second day of Saudi strikes in the area, the foreign office assured that every Pakistani will be evacuated from the country safely. Tasnim Aslam the official spokes person wrote on Twitter that evacuation of every Pakistani soul is their prime object but they are facing problems as most of the airports in Yemen are close and the ground routes are not safe. She further added that the Pakistani Government is in touch with the Yemeni government to ensure the safe exit for Pakistani community.
Tasnim also added that Pakistan is in contact with the neighboring countries of Yemen so the Pakistani can leave to safety with or without any Visa.
The decision for the evacuation was made because of the Ongoing air strikes made by Saudia Arab against the Huthi rebels.
