FAISALABAD: Two condemned prisoners were hanged at Central Jail here on Friday where new gallows were established for the execution of capital punishments.
Spokesman of the Central Jail told that earlier, the condemned prisoners had to be shifted to District Jail Faisalabad for execution. First time, the two condemned prisoners have been executed in the
Central Jail Faisalabad after the establishment of the gallow.
Sajid alias Tahir alias Taro son of Fazal Kareem resident of Chak No.138-GB Sammundri who was awarded death sentence on two counts by Anti Terrorism Court on murder and terrorism charges about 13 years ago.
Tarkhani police had booked accused Sajid on charge of killing his relative woman Shahida Aziz and inflecting serious injuries to Muhammad Azhar about 14 years ago.
The other condemned prisoner was Muhammad Akhtar alias Haseena son of Niamat Ali resident of Chak No.255-RB who was awarded capital punishment on three counts by the Anti Terrorism Court as he was booked by the Dijkot police on the charge of committing rape with a woman Tasawwar Bibi and shot dead one Manzoor Ahmad over resistance about 15 years.
The dead warrants were issued against accused Akhtar and Sajid Taro and both the condemned prisoners were hanged in Central Jail on Friday morning.
Tight security arrangements were also made in and around the Central Jail before the execution of the condemned prisoners, spokesman added.
