KARACHI: The Rangers forces early on Friday released 19 more suspects obstructed in a raid on the MQM (Muttahida Qaumi Movement) headquarters ‘Nine Zero’ in which rangers claimed that illegal weapons were seized and wanted criminal arrested.
Over 100 suspects had been arrested including 28 workers of the MQM who were later appeared before ATC (anti-terrorism court) and remanded into Rangers custody for 90 days.
In the raid early Thursday morning on the MQM headquarters Nine Zero, the Rangers official had claimed that it had seized a “huge quantity” of illegal weapons, prohibited arms, ammunition and arrested hardened convicted criminals, including one summons of murdering a journalist Wali Babar.
One of the MQM’s activists Waqas was also mysteriously shot dead in firing as party members protested following the raid.
A total of 22 arrested suspects have now been released, with three freed earlier on Thursday.
