AZERBAIJAN: President Mamnoon Hussain Friday said that Pakistan would continue supporting Azerbaijan on the conflict of Nagorno-Karabakh, expressing gratitude on Azerbaijan’s support on the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir.
The President said this while talking to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Maharram Mammadyarov here, said a press release.
The President underlined that real success of Azerbaijan-Pakistan lies transforming bilateral burgeoning political relations into concrete cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, defense, education, culture, science and technology.
He stressed that Pakistan condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
Mamnoon Hussain said that Pakistan was happy to provide training to diplomats from Azerbaijan at its Foreign Service Academy.
He said that Pakistan would like to have more young diplomats from Azerbaijan that would result in better understanding and friendship between the two countries.
Minister of Defence and Industry of Azerbaijan Yavar Jamalov also called on President Mamnoon Hussain. On this occasion,President Mamnoon Hussain said that both the countries should take advantage of each other’s experience in the field of defence.
Member of National Assembly of Azerbaijan, Ganira Alasgarqizi Pashayeva also called on President Mamnoon Hussain. During the meeting, the President underscored that closer cooperation between parliamentarians of the two countries could play an important role in supplementing governmental efforts to further strengthen the bilateral relations.
President Mamnoon Hussain appreciated Ganira’s contribution to the development of Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations. Ganira Alasgarqizi Pashayeva presented her book to the President.
The President congratulated Ganira on writing a book on Pakistan adding that it would further enhance friendship and mutual understanding among people of two countries.
