ADELAIDE: Pakistan cricket squad flew off to Sydney here on Saturday after losing their ICC Cricket World Cup quarter-final against Australia from where they will fly back to Pakistan.
A spokesman of Pakistan cricket said that after an overnight stopover in Sydney, the team will fly to Dubai on Sunday night on their way to Karachi and Lahore.
Pakistan suffered a six wicket loss to Australia in the quarter-final thus ending their campaign in the global event.
On reaching Dubai, members of the Pakistan team will fly to Lahore and Karachi in two batches.
Senior players and two former Pakistan captains Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi with Sarfraz Ahmed and Sohail Khan will fly to Karachi while rest of the team including captain Misbah-ul-Haq and manager Naveed Akram Cheema will fly to Lahore.
Pakistan team chief coach Waqar Younis based in Sydney will not be travelling to Lahore with the team after his team’s ouster from the World Cup.
