RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif said on Wednesday that Armed Forces have resolved to cleanse country from all kinds of terrorism and added cooperation by the people in indicating suspects was critical.
“We have resolved to cleanse Pakistan from all kinds of terrorism, Let us join hands, military operations must continue fearlessly.”
He made these remarks during his visit to newly established National Counter Terrorism Training Centre, Pabbi Hills, near Jhelum. First batch of the Law Enforcement Agencies has been trained by Army, Director General, ISPR, Maj Gen. Asim Saleem Bajwa tweeted on social media.
The COAS said that Army was doing its best to train all Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and build their capacity to chase terrorists out of their hideouts whether urban or in remote areas.
“While, Army trains to fight terrorists, coordinated intelligence mechanism is must to pre-empt terrorist atttacks,” he added.
He said that cooperation by the masses in pointing out suspects was critical.
Gen. Raheel Sharif who was impressed by the training, said that such training would help rid Pakistan of terrorism.
A batch of 500 have completed anti terrorist training including 200 personnel from police and elite force from the provinces, 200 personnel from FC/Rangers,Strategic Plan Division (SPD), Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) and 100 ex-Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy personnel.
Senior Military and police leadership, home secretaries from the provinces were also present.
