QUETTA: Senior journalist, Siddiq Baluch who was conferred Tamgha-i-Imtiaz on March 23 for his services in Journalism have urged journalists to be impartial and play their due role without any fear for resolving the journalist’s issues.
While talking to media persons here Wednesday, he said “International standard of journalism has urged journalists not include their personal opinion or point of view in a news story as such trend may cause emerging of threats for them from different groups including terrorists, militants organisations and political pressure groups”.
He said a journalist should not be a worker of any political party or any other group.
He said partial and biased point of view adopted by some TV anchors have also posed threats for journalists community as militants and pressure groups victimized them of violence easily.
He underlined the need to set criteria and implement rules and regulations that who could become a journalist.
It is recalled here that Governor Balochistan, Muhammad Khan Achakzai on behalf of the President, conferred Tamgha-i-Imtiaz on veteran journalist Siddiq Baluch.He was one of seven recipients of Balochistan who received Presidential Awards at Governor House in Quetta.
