IGP orders strict security for all worship places, shrines

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali has ordered maintenance of strict security of mosques, shrines, churches and other worship places.

The IGP, in the wake of twin blasts at churches in Lahore, convened a meeting of police officers here on Monday and reviewed  the security arrangements for religious as well as public places in the metropolis.

He directed the DIGs and SSPs to review and strengthen the security arrangements at the public parks, shopping centres and educational institutions besides religious and worship places of the minorities.

He also directed the SHOs to maintain close contact with ulema and representatives of minorities in their respective areas to foil attempt of creating law, order situation by anti-social elements.
