PESHAWAR: Following successful negotiations between the treasury and opposition members here at Assembly Hall, polling process Thursday afternoon resumed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly for Senate Election 2015 and time was extended till 8pm.
Musarrat Khan, Provincial Election Commissioner (PEC) who is the returning officer for the Senate Election in KP announced that polling hours have been extended till 8pm today and lawmakers in presence of assembly premises can also cast their votes after 8pm.
The polling was temporarily stopped after the opposition members protested by alleging that PTI members are taking out ballot papers from the assembly hall and thus violating sanctity of votes and secret balloting procedure for Senate polls.
The polling is currently underway in KP assembly and both the treasury and opposition members are casting their votes in a free and open atmosphere.
Provincial Election Commissioner, Musarrat Khan is presiding over the polling process.
The polling was started at 9am this morning and the first vote was polled by PML N MPA Wajihuzzaman.
