ISLAMABAD: The execution of Saulat Mirza, the death-row prisoner and ex member of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has been extended for 30 more days.
Following the video statement from Saulat Mirza that was aired hours before his hanging scheduled for March 19, the delay has been ordered for the third time. Initially his execution was postponed for 72 hours.
Sources claimed that the Machh prison in Balochistan, where Mirza is presently detained, has received the fresh orders to delay the execution for 30 more days.
Meanwhile, the Machh prison has received another order which directs the authorities to go ahead and execute five other death row inmates.
