LARKANA: The Judge, Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Larkana Mr. Muhammad Riaz Rajput on Saturday awarded life imprisonment to 12 accused on two counts and imposed a fine of Rs 20 thousands on each in a kidnapping for ransom case besides causing injury to a rice mills owner.
The mill owner Abdul Waheed Kartio of Wagan town of Kamber-Shahdadkot district, was injured on 18-2-2013. The accused were found guilty however all 12 are still absconders.
The court of Muhammad Riaz Rajput pronounced the sentence of life imprisonment on two counts to 12 accused including Imtiaz Mugheri, Abdullah alias Nanu, Waryam, Murad, Zulfikar, Jaweed, Fida Hussain, Hubdar, Lutuf, Imdad and Mumtaz after they were found guilty in the case of kidnapping for ransom and murderous attack and injuring Abdul Waheed Kartio, a rice mill owner, on 18-02-2013.
The Court also imposed a fine of Rs 20 thousand on each. If they do not pay fine they will undergo further six months imprisonment.
All the 12 accused are still absconders and at-large.
The properties of the 12 accused were to be forfeited, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Larkana’a Judge Muhammad Riaz Rajput said in his verdict.
The case was registered at Wagan police station of Kamber-Shahdadkot under Sections 365-A and 7-E ATC, 324, 511 and 145 of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-terrorism Act.
