KARACHI: 27 MQM arrested workers including Amir Khan have been presented before an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday.
According to the reports, all 27 arrested workers will be in custody of the Rangers for 90 days.
A large cache of illegal weapons and ammunition, walki talkies, binocular and other military equipments used by Nato forces in Afghanistan were also seized during the raid.
Ranger’s official Colonel Tahir said that one of the arrested criminals was Faisal alias Faisal Moto, who was involved in the killing of Journalist Wali Khan Babar and sentenced to death.
Other ‘hardened criminals’ arrested throughout the raid included Kamran alias Zeeshan, Farhan Shabir alias Mullah, Aamir, Nadir and Obaid alias K2.
Waqas Ali Shah, 26, an MQM activist was killed obscurely when a single bullet hit his face, while a private channel’s cameraman was also injured in the firing.
The funeral of Waqas was held later today in Karachi.
