601 suspects arrested under NAP

PESHAWAR: Under the National Action Plan (NAP), the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have rounded up 601 suspects and recovered huge cache of arms, ammunitions in the ongoing search and strike operation being conducted throughout the province.

According to Police statement, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police in the operation conducted in different parts of the province recovered 40 Arms and ammunition of different kind and 1057 rounds of different bore. During the operation 321 houses and 226 hotels were checked and 7 cases were registered against the violators.

During snap checking on 164 check points, 364 suspects were held and recovered 17 arms of different kind and 1326 cartridges.

During action against illegal Afghans a total of 72 persons were detained on violation and 40 cases were registered against them. Similarly one person was arrested on violation of illegal use of loudspeaker.

Security inspections of 934 educational institutions were also carried out and various institutions were advised to further beef up security arrangements.
