TANK: A caravan of 102 affected families here Wednesday left for the native areas in South Wazirstan Agency, rising the number of repatriated families to 613 during last three days from Indr Kor Fort registration point.
The affected families were seen off by Political Agent South Waziristan Islam Zaib Khan and Col Imran. The beaming affected people were jubilant over the repatration to the native areas and were seen waving hands from their vehicles on their way to native towns Pir Kalay, Sherana and Kar Thangi of Tehsil Sarokai of South Waziristan.
The repatriation process began from March 16 last with full swing. As many as 209 families left on March 16, 152 on March 17 and 102 on March 18.
Earlier, the return process of affected people was started on December 4, 2010 and about 12000 affected families in different phases had left for their native areas
including Chagmalai, Shahoor, Spin Kai Raghzai, Kot Kai, Sararogha of South Waziristan Agency from settled areas of Khyber Pakthunkhwa.
In present phase of repatriation, 4937 families have made registration that are being moved to their natives areas of Sarokai and Sararogha tehsils of South Waziristan Agency.
Apart from Rs 10000 to each displaced returning family as transporation expenses, Rs 25000 are being given upon reaching to South Wazirstan. A medical camp was also setup at Kor Camp by Health Department where male and female doctors are providing free treatment and medicines to the patients.
A Sehat ka Insaf centre has been opened for vaccination of children against fatal ailments including polio.
