MULTAN: Punjab government was providing 70,000 vegetable seed packets to the people for summer season under Kitchen gardening project.
According to Assistant Director Agriculture Naveed Asmat, the Punjab government had provided 120,000 packets of vegetable seeds for the winter season on subsidize rate of Rs 50 per packet.
He said that the Kitchen gardening project was launched in year 2011-12, adding that the government had provided 0.8 milllion seed packets so far.
About provision of seed packets, he said that 325 sales points have been set up across the province.
The assistant director also informed that Punjab government had launched another project costing Rs 410.87 million to promote vegetables.
The government was also providing plastic crates for proper transportation of vegetables from field to market.
The vegetables trading plate-forms have also been introduced in 23 districts of the province to get quality and enhanced production.
