PESHAWAR: Central Ameer Jamaat Islami Sirajul Haq Friday urged Election Commission of Pakistan to hold transparent Senate election and stop way for those using unfair means for election to the upper house of the parliament.
Talking to mediamen in the assembly premises, Sirajul Haq said that Senate was Upper House of the country and its elections should be clean and transparent. He alleged that some people were visiting MPAs houses along with money-packed briefcases to buy their loyalties, but they would not succeed in their nefarious designs.
He furthers said that horse-trading was a familiar practice in the past regime adding that Election Commission should play its role in holding transparent elections.
Earlier, the house passed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Educational and Vocational Training Authority Bill, 2015. Later Speaker Asad Qaiser adjourned the session till March 10.
