SYDNEY: Seven Pakistan cricketers and the former captain Shahid Afridi have been charged for splitting a team limit ahead of their crucial Mega event battle against India on Thursday, Aaj News reported.
According to the sources, they have been notified that a repeat offence will see them out of the tournament which starts on Sunday.
All rounder Shahid Afridi and the opener of Pakistan Cricket team Ahmed Shehzad, were fined 300 Australian dollars (US $230) after they reached late to their Sydney hotel on Sunday, sources said.
Naveed Cheema, a former military man, claimed that the players came 45 minutes late after meeting with their friends at dinner. The players are understood to have apologized and promised not to repeat it again, he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan will start its world cup campaign against the defending champions India on Sunday.
