ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Session Court has summoned General (retd) Pervez Musharraf in person on March 10 in a murder case of Abdul Rasheed Ghazi while rejecting the application of temporary exemption from appearance due to security reasons.
Additional District and Session Judge, Wajid Ali rejected the application filed by Former President Pervez Musharraf seeking a day exemption in the Ghazi murder case.
During the course of proceedings, the plaintiff Haroon Rashid’s lawyer, Tariq Asad Advocate said that Pervez Musharraf could be produced in court by making proper security arrangements.
He alleged that Musharraf could dance in cultural shows but not take part in the court proceedings. He also submitted the footage of Chitral Cultural Show in the court.
Asad further pleaded that Musharraf said in this video that he is physically fit and could deal with his opponents with iron hands, so requested the bench to reject the application and summon the accused.
Subsequently, the court rejected Musharraf’s application of exemption and directed him to take part in the court proceedings in person.
Whereas the judgments in the identical applications challenging jurisdictions of the court has been reserved which would be announced later.
