LAHORE: Provincial Home Minister Col (retd) Shuja Khanzada told the Punjab Assembly on Monday that an investigation report in Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines suicide attack would come in a week.
“We are examining footage and parts of the body of suicide bomber to reach the conclusion,” he added.
Responding to an adjournment motion by PPP’s Faiza Malik, he said two high profile teams were constituted to probe the deadly attack. He confirmed that six people were killed and 32 sustained injuries in the attack.
The injured, he said, were being provided the best medical treatment. He said owing to strict vigilance, the bomber could not entered the Police Lines and had to explode material outside.
The minister said during a crackdown police had seized heavy quantity of arms and ammunition from various vehicles and also arrested their owners for possessing illicit weapons. He said anti arms operation would continue till end of arms culture from society.
He maintained that law regarding having and carrying arms was being made strictest.
Today, the session was resumed after a two day break with 90 minutes behind the schedule.
Acting Speaker Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani chaired the sitting.
The House passed two pending bills, The Punjab Curriculum Text Book Board Bill 2015 and NUR International University Lahore.
Provincial Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman presented the bills.
Earlier, Parliamentary Secretary for Schools Education Rufian Juleous replying to members queries during question hour session said the present government was attaching high significance to education and promote literacy rate a number of measures had been taken.
She said special focus was being laid on children enrolment in schools.
