KARACHI: The opposition parties in Sindh are united, as the current situation demands the opposition make joint efforts to find solution to corruption and other ills.
This was stated by Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) Sindh President Pir Sadruddin Shah Rashidi and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
They were talking to the media after an MQM delegation called on PML-F chief and spiritual leader of Hurs Pir Pagaro at his residence Raja House here on Thursday.
The MQM delegation included Farooq Sattar, Barrister Farogh Nasim, Kanwar Naveed Jameel and Haider Abbas Rizvi.
Pir Sadruddin Shah said that MQM and PML-F leaderships discussed upcoming Senate elections, political situation and other matters of mutual interest.
The PML-F Sindh president said a meeting of the parliamentary party has been called on February 09, which will take final decisions about the Senate elections.
MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said the basic purpose of the meeting with Pir Pagaro was to make the role of the opposition in Sindh more effective, adding that consultations were continuing in this regard.
He said the circumstances in Sindh demand that the opposition make joint efforts to resolve issues.
