ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said Friday that there was exemplary coordination between Pakistan and Afghanistan to bring to justice the masterminds of attack on Army Public School (APS) Peshawar.
“The coordination between the two countries is historic to bring the perpetrators of ghastly attack to justice,” he told the National Assembly.
He said the entire nation, politicians and armed forces were united to eliminate terrorism from the country.
He said soon after the Peshawar attack, the whole political leadership of the country and top military leadership gathered in Peshawar, while Army Chief immediately left for Afghanistan.
“Operation against the miscreants on the Pak-Afghan border has been launched more than once.
The International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (Isaf) has also carried out operation against them,” he said.
The minister did not divulge details about the investigation into the attack due to the sensitivity of the issue.
“I don’t want to share details at the moment as it will provide a chance to connected networks to escape,” he added.
He reiterated that the issue of terrorism must be treated separately as other matters concern to law and order.
He said the state machinery was working round-the-clock in collaboration with provincial governments to probe the attack.
“There is perfect coordination not only between the federal and provincial governments but also among all the provincial governments”, he maintained.
Chaudhry Nisar said the nation would never forget the tragic incidents of Peshawar and Shikarpur.
“I want to assure this House and the victims families that we cannot forget and we will never forget these inhuman attacks.
Those who committed bloodshed would have to pay the price.
We’ll redeem the nation from the cancer of terrorism,” he said.
He also told the House that masterminds of Shikarpur blast had been identified to a great extent but its details too could not be shared as that would alert the attack masterminds.
Its not safe to share each and every detail.
I’m hopeful the situation will become clear in next few days.
I will request the members to repose trust in the government,” he said.
