Pakistan now lacks in the Pool B table with the loss of two matches during the tournament. After Pakistan choose to bowl first and took two early wickets they were still in the strong position, until Windies entered last 10 overs and scored 194 runs.
Misbah-ul-Haq asks his team to focus on their upcoming match against Zimbabwe. He wants them to forget their defeat in the last two matches of the mega event. He thinks that now it is the time when they need to pick themselves to perform in the upcoming matches. ‘Forget the defeats and learn from the mistakes’ is the advice that Pakistan captain is giving to his teammates.
While discussing about the West Indies face-off Misbah feels that Pakistan was in danger from the time they choose to bowl first. He said, “We couldn’t take enough wickets up front. We only took one or two. We could have done better than that,” local media reported.
Misbah admitted that nothing is working right for them and as a team they need to perform well.
“At the end of the day as a bowler, as a fielder, as a batsman, you have to go out there in the middle and perform. That’s what we are not doing at the moment,” he added.
According to him batsmen failed to score much and it’s tricky to play with six batsmen and five bowlers. But the Pakistani team is going with seven batsmen even this is not doing much for Pakistan.
“It’s a do or die situation for us and there are no ifs and buts. We just lost in all three departments. We couldn’t bowl well, a lot of dropped catches, and the batting totally flopped,” he concluded.
