ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Monday rejected pre- arrest bail of former Managing Director (MD) of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), Mir Shah Jahan Khetran in a National Accountability Bureau (Nab) case.
A two-judge bench comprising Justice Noor-Ul-Haq N. Qureshi and Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui also rejected Abdul Rasool Zaidi, Manager Accounts PTDC’s bail in a plea filed by the accused.
Besides, the bench rejected plea of Mir Shah Jahan Khetran seeking excluding his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The court while rejecting the pre-arrest bail application, directed the NAB’s officer who is investigating the case to expedite investigation process against the accused.
Nab is investigating Khetran and Zaidi for financial mismanagement in the authority. The accused are allegedly involved in financial mismanagement, illegal recruitments and illegal leasing out PTDC properties.
Khetran was removed from MD PTDC slot on December 1 in 2013 after which NAB started investigations against him on allegations of his involvement in financial mismanagement, misuse of funds, and leasing out of PTDC property.
