KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Health, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Friday ordered departmental action against doctors and other medical staff found absent from their duties at Rural Health Centre (RHC) Manghopir.
It was during the minister’s surprise visit to the centre, the other day that he found none of the seven doctors, deputed at the RHC, along with other relevant staff available at the facility.
He in his on the spot orders had directed the concerned District Health Officer to submit a report about those on duty as well as duty schedule of the entire staff.
The Minister reiterated his resolve that people in general and patients in particular would not be allowed to suffer due to negligence of those collecting salaries to serve them.
He also directed the health departmental officials to keep stringent vigil on the performance of staffers serving at the provincial government healthcare facilities.
“It is urgent and also extremely important to ensure that duty chart is strictly complied with while adequate record must be available of sanctioned leaves and the substitute so that patients may not suffer,” Dahar said.
