RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Gen Rashad Mahmood, who is on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, met King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.
During the meeting, Gen Rashad Mahmood conveyed good wishes of the Government and Armed Forces of Pakistan.
While expressing condolences on the sad demise of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and appreciating the late king’s efforts in the fields of economic development and counter terrorism, Gen.
Rashad Mahmood wished the Saudi leadership success and prosperity in the face of tough challenges ahead, said an ISPR press release.
Gen Rashad Mahmood also called on Prince Muhammad Bin Sulman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, Defence Minister, Prince Miteb Bin Abdullah, Commander of Saudi Arabian National Guards, Abdul Rahman Bin Ali Al-Rubaian, Deputy Interior Minister and General Abdul Rehman Bin Saleh Al-Bunyan, Chief of General Staff and discussed matters related to professional interests which included defence production collaboration, exchange programmes, training and host of other areas between the two armed forces.
The discussions with dignitaries also focused on evolving regional security situation.
Gen Rashad explained the steps taken by the government under National Action Plan, effects of operation Zarb-e-Azb and improving relations with new Afghan government.
Earlier the CJCSC visited King Abdul Aziz Military Academy in Riyadh.
He appreciated the standard of training and professional excellence being pursued by the Saudi armed forces.
