ISLAMABAD: Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Wednesday said that water shortage was another issue being faced by the country and concerted efforts were need to resolve it right away.
Talking to media outside the Parliament he urged the people to play their role in conserving the water.
“The government is taking steps to address the issue of water scarcity but the people should also play their role in this regard”, he said.
He said hydel generation was the preferred resource of power generation adding that the government was taking serious measures to build new dams.
To a question, he said that the government had been successful to minimize line losses to a great extent by upgrading the transmission infrastructure during the last three to four months.
