PESHAWAR: KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has strongly condemned bomb explosions near a mosque in Hayatabad, Peshawar.
In his condemnation statement, he termed the targeting of innocent worshipers during Friday prayers tantamount to the insult of humanity and religion and made it clear that such wild terrorist elements and their master minds ill be dealt with full iron hands.
Hearing the incident, the chief minister directed the authorities of the Departments of Home & Tribal Affairs and police and besides declaring emergency in hospitals and initiating of rescue operation also directed the conducting of operation against the terrorists with the assistance of all law-enforcement agencies.
The chief minister along with PTI chief Imran Khan rushed to the spot of incident to review relief and security operation. However, on reaching the University Town, the personnel of police, military and other security agencies stopped and told them that their presence at the spot besides other problems could also create hurdle in the rescue and search operation. Therefore, on the insistence of the security personnel they went back.
However, they directed the carrying of the rescue and security operation forward with force and spirit.
