FAISALABAD: Pakistan has rendered unmatched sacrifices for the world peace and nation will get rid of the menace of terrorism soon, said state minister for water and power Abid Sher Ali.
He was talking to Mr Philip Barton British high commissioner during a dinner hosted by him in Kashmir House here Sunday night. Chaudhry Sher Ali former mayor Faisalabad, parliamentarians and elite of the city also present.
He said that Pakistan and UK are enjoying good and strong bilateral relations. “International community also acknowledges our joint contributions for the world peace”, he said and added that present government haD made daring steps for economic revival and energy crisis in addition to flushing out terrorism and extremism from this land once
“All available resources are being utilized to overcome the energy crisis”, he said and added that Prime Minister had very clear vision and wanted to provide much needed relief to the masses by generating cheap electricity in the country.
The state minister said industrial development was necessary to solve the problems of poverty and unemployment while electricity was deemed necessary for industrial growth.
Hence the ministry of water and power has focused on hydel electricity projects.
He thanked for the British help in getting GSP Plus status and hoped that it would also support Pakistan to sign a Free Trade Agreement with European Union.
Mr.Philip Batron appreciated the hospitality of the Faisalabadites and said that over all investment climate in Pakistan was very favorable and British investors are preparing to invest in Pakistan in a big way. He observed that Faisalabad was playing reinvigorated in
the economic development of Pakistan.
