PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Irrigation, Mehmood Khan said that the de-silting, cleanliness and repairing of all canals and irrigation channels in the province would be completed soon.
Besides, the wastage of water, the campaign will also help provide sufficient water for irrigation purpose.
He expressed these views while talking to media of his inspection of de-silting campaign here in Kabul River Canal.
On this occasion, Executive Engineer (EXN), Kabul River Canal, Asad Zaman Khan in his briefing to the minister said that 132 kilometer portion of the canal would be de-silted at the cost of Rs 33 million.
The minister while expressing satisfaction over the briefing directed the concerned authorities for utilization of all their capabilities for the success of the campaign.
In this connection, he also urged the elected public representatives and general public for monitoring of the campaign in their respective areas and in case of any complaint bring it into their notice on time to redress it with immediate effect.
