KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, taking notice of occupation and damage to a school building in Green Town of Shah Faisal Colony, reached the site to ascertain the situation personally.
Talking to the media at the site, he said that damage to school structure will not be tolerated at any cost, said a handout issued here on Monday.
He directed the Commissioner Karachi and the DIG Police to deploy police personnel for the security of school, and inquire into the matter to resolve it.
Dr. Ishrat-ul- Ebad assured the school principal that the Secretary Education will be directed to visit the school for looking into the matter. School Principal Nasreen Bano told the Governor that “builders” had allegedly demolished classrooms and boundary wall of the school during summer vacation.
She requested for the re-construction of the building so that it does not affect children’s education.
The Governor told journalists that a person claims this property which he says was given to the Eduction Department on rent. However, the Education Department says it is its own property, he added.
He said that, for the immediate re-construction of the school building, directives have been issued to the Provincial Education Minister and the Secretary Education. Commissioner Karachi, Secretary to Governor, police and education department’s officials accompanied the Governor.
