KARACHI: The Director General of National Accountability Bureau (NAB-Sindh) Col(r) Naeem Siraj has said that we all have to work together for the eradication of the menace of corrugation from the society.
This he said while addressing a seminar; Freedom of Information and Whistle Blower Protection” organized by Transparency International Pakistan in collaboration with National Accountability Bureau, at a hotel here on Saturday.
He said that we have set up a hotline and email for receiving complaints against corruption and names of those who give information will be keep confidential.
He gave a summary of NAB’s awareness and prevention programme.
He said that NAB has reached out to school, youth and the general public, where it stressed on subjects such as ethics, morality because it is better to prevent corruption than to later prosecute the perpetrators.
Chairman Transparency International Pakistan(TI) Sohail Muzzaffar, TI Pakistan Advisor Syed Adil Gilani, Executive Director CPDI Amer Ejaz, TI Pakistan Programme Coordinator Maryam Javaid, Justice (R) Haziqul Khairi, Justice (R) Ghous Muhammad and other also addressed the seminar.
They said that for the eradication of corruption it is necessary that there should be no hurdle in access to information. They also called for giving protection to those who provide information about corruption.
