Book “Memoirs of A political Bhutto” launched


ISLAMABAD: A unique book titled “Memoirs of A political Bhutto” written by Jameel Ahmed Bhutto was launched on Tuesday in a ceremony held at Preston University.

The event was jointly organized by Preston University and the Archaeological and Historical Association of Pakistan.

Mr. Ejaz Rahim, former federal secretary graced the launching ceremony as chief guest.

Senior faculty and students of Preston University and some distinguished guests participated in the event in large numbers.

In his keynote address on the occasion, Mr. Ejaz Rahim said that every nation writes about their leaders so that their youth could know about them and become aware of the memorable contributions they made towards the progress of their countries.

Talking about Jameel Ahmed Bhutto’s book “Memoirs of Apolitical Bhutto,” he said in his book Mr. Jameel Ahmed has expressed his thoughts about former prime minister of Pakistan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in a unique style.

He has not only shed light on the life of the former premier of the country but also touched upon other vital issues such as the East Pakistan debacle and Bhutto’s hanging.

The book, he said, would prove to be an interesting reading for all.

Eminent among the other speakers who spoke on the occasion were former Ambassador of Pakistan to China Mr. Khalid Mehmood, former Ambassador, Dr. B. A. Malik, Dr. Ghazanfar Mehdi, Chairman Archaeological and Historical Association of Pakistan.

In his brief address on the occasion, Ghazanfar Mehdi said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a leader par-excellence. His charismatic personality and outstanding knowledge ofnational and international affairs was admired by all and sundry not only in the country but world over.

In his book Jameel Ahmed Bhutto has adopted the middle path while expressing his views about late premier Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

He praised and criticized him for his right and wrong in a balanced manner.

That is what amply proves Mr. Jameel Ahmed Bhutto’s objectivity in writing about a big leader like Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

While expressing his thoughts on the book, former Ambassador Mr.Khalid Mehmood also praised Mr. Jameel Ahmed Bhutto for taking a very balanced stance in writing about a great leader like Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

He profoundly congratulated Mr. Jameel Ahmed Bhutto for his endeavors to be objective in his writings about the former premier.

Former Ambassador, Dr. B. A. Malik, in his brief remarks on the occasion, profoundly eulogized the efforts of Mr. Jameel Ahmed Bhutto to write a book on a great leader like former prime minister of Pakistan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

He said Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was a leader who made Pakistan stand out conspicuously in the comity of respected world nations.

Earlier, in his welcome address Dr. Allah Wadhayo Baloch extended a warm welcome to the chief guest of the ceremony, Mr. Ejaz Rahim, Mr. Jameel Ahmed Bhutto, former federal secretary and author of the book “Memoirs of Apolitical Bhutto”, former Ambassador Mr. Khalid Mehmood, former Ambassador, Dr. B. A. Malik, Dr. Ghazanfar Mehdi, chairman Archaeological and Historical Association of Pakistan and the other distinguished speakers to the book launching ceremony.
