ISLAMABAD: Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Friday said that reduction of electricity prices was the result of decreasing of oil prices in the world.
Talking to a private TV channel, the minister said that it is not true that reduction of electricity prices was the result of pressure of any protest or sit-ins.
He said that there was Rs.6 difference between buying and selling of electricity,adding that in Pakistan most of electricity is producing through furnace oil which is a expensive way of producing.
Replying to a question, he said that the decision regarding price decreasing would be implemented from end of this month and government trying to provide maximum relief to the masses.
Replying to a question, he said that government providing un-interrupted electricity to industries for smooth running and domestic consumers are facing load-shedding problem.
The Minister said that government is fully committed to resolve energy crises from the country.
