ISLAMABAD:-Indian police have arrested at least 280 youth from Kupwara and Kulgam districts to make the ongoing drama in the areas a success.
The police continuing its crackdown detained youth without any provocation. The action has also forced scores of youth to go into hiding, KMS reported.”We don’t understand why police have launched a massive crackdown,” said Abdul Rashid Mir of Kulgam. For the past few days, cops are carrying out nocturnal raids in most parts of the district to detain youth.
The Inspector General of Police admitted that 200 youth have been arrested in Kulgam, Kupwara and Handwara.
On the other hand, police arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (KLF) leader Sheikh Khalid Mubarak and Mohammad Altaf Raina from Pulwama while two other activists, Mushtaq Ahmad Maloora and Shakir Ahmad, have been shifted to Islamabad sub- jail, the JKLF spokesman said in a statement.
Meanwhile, several personnel of Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in turned turtle at Khudwani in Kaimoh after youth attacked it with stones on Monday evening. The injured were rushed to Sub District Hospital.
