ISLAMABAD: 35 Indian fishermen, who were released by Pakistan three days ago, expressed happiness after they returned home in India.
The fishermen returned to their home towns after their release by Pakistani authorities via Wagah border.
The fishermen had been arrested for illegal fishing in Pakistani waters.
One prisoner was arrested for illegally crossing the border. They were lodged in district jail of Malir in Karachi.
According to the fishermen, at the time of departure they have been provided transportation facility besides packets containing clothes, shoes and Rs 10,000 cash as a goodwill gesture.
The fishermen had been in jail from one to three years after they were apprehended by the Pakistan Marine agency.
