KARACHI: IG Police Sindh, Ghulam Haider Jamali has ordered extra-ordinary security arrangements across the province on the occasion of birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and the Christmas.
He directed that concrete security arrangements should be made at churches, missionary schools and residential places of Christian community on the occasion of Christmas with the consultation of organizers of churches.
The IGP also instructed the supervisory officers of all the police stations to remain present at mobile vans from the beginning to end of Christmas- related programmes in their jurisdictions. He also directed them to remain in contact with wireless base and provide update of their positions and security situation.
Ghulam Haider Jamali further said that on December 25, the day of the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam, all necessary arrangements should be made for the deployment of heavy contingent of police at Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum and ensure sweeping and cleaning work by the bomb disposal squad, as besides government dignitaries, a large number of common people visit the mausoleum to pay homage to the Founder of the Nation.
He also called for intensifying random snap checking, picketing, and patrolling and deployment of policemen in plainclothes to timely check any criminal activity.
