HYDERABAD: The Director General Rangers Sindh Major General Bilal Akbar visited Central Prison Hyderabad here on Saturday and reviewed security arrangements as well as inspected the prison wards, gallows and jail hospital.
Accompanied by the DIG Jail Muzaffar Alam Siddiqui, SSP Jail Younus Masih, SSP Hyderabad Irfan Baloch and Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Fayyaz Ahmed Jatoi, the Director General Sindh Rangers remained there for four hours and visited different sections of the prison.
During the visit, he was briefed about the prisoners of capital punishment as well as the deployment of Police, Rangers and FC personnel inside and outside the jail.
He was informed that the President of Pakistan had rejected the appeals of three prisoners namely Shahsawar Baloch, Sabir Baloch and Saleem Maseeh who were awarded capital punishment. A woman Khadija is also among 191 prisoners of the jail whose appeals of mercy are at different stages, the Director General Rangers was informed.
