ISLAMABAD: Former Test Cricketer Sarfraz Nawaz believes the toss will play a vital role in the result making of the third and final Test against the Kiwis saying skipper Misbah-ul-Haq should implement a straightforward winning and aggressive mentality while entering the field.
Pakistan will play the third Test against New Zealand on November 26. After
test matches both sides will take on each other in two Twenty-20 matches on
December 4 and 5. Then will play five ODIs starting from December 8, 12, 14, 17
Talking to APP, Sarfraz said Misbah should enter the match with a positive
frame of mind. “This will put News Zealand under pressure,” he said.
Sarfraz urged Misbah not to go in the match with a defensive approach as it can
trouble the team. “Pakistan needs to focus on the game, improve their opening
stand and try to bowl according to the conditions, which will be the best policy
and results will be better,” Sarfraz said.
Sarfraz said he feels opening with Azhar Ali and Haris Sohail will be a better option. “Azhar having the ability to stay on the crease could be a useful
opener, while Haris Sohail had the guts for longer time,” he said.
Sarfraz said Younis Khan deserves to be in the next year’s World Cup squad
as he has performed wonderfully. “Things keep going against him but he has proved that he is playing for his country,” he said.
Sarfraz said whenever the team has needed him (Younis) he has gone out
there and played positive cricket. “Misbah has also gained his form in the Test
matches,” he said.
Sarfraz also praised the PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan and Najam Sethi for
supporting Younis and Misbah in the bad times. “All the players have worked hard in the Tests,” he said.
