ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Friday said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) was trying to damage national institutions.
The PTI, he said, had designs to ransack public and government property on November 30.
Talking to a private news channel, he said the PTI had good relations with the government when it initiated dialogue with the disgruntled Taliban. But after the failure of talks, the PTI had changed its stance and even it expressed displeasure over launching operation Zarb-e-Azb to flush out terrorists from the region, he added.
The government, he added, had to launch the operation against terrorists to ensure rule of law in the country.
Replying to a question, he said the law of the country should find ways to arrest of the PTI members nominated for attacking state institutions during the protest.
The PTI leaders should face trial in the courts in cases registered against them. “The PTI had admired courts for giving verdict against us,” he recalled.
To another question, he said the government had never closed the doors of talks with the PTI. The doors were open, he added
He urged the PTI to avoid indulging security institutions into politics and adopting provocative behaviour, besides playing blame game against parliamentarians.
