Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Siraj Muhammad Khan has refused to resign and requested Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq not to accept his resignation, it is learnt. Siraj Muhammad Khan is among the three members of the National Assembly (MNAs) who did not appear before the Speaker to confirm resignations on October 29. He was elected from NA-6 Nowshera in general elections 2013 on a PTI ticket.
A deadlock persists over the acceptance of PTI MNAs’ resignations. The speaker says that the resignations will have to be individually verified while the PTI insists that there should be collective verification. Siraj Muhammad Khan could not be reached for his comments. When contacted, PTI leader Dr Arif Alvi said the party membership of Siraj Muhammad would be suspended; and afterwards the party head would write to the Speaker National Assembly to de-seat him. He said the party head would also write to ECP.
