PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan on Wednesday took serious notice of the news regarding recovery of 26 minor girls of Bajaur Agency from a house at Liaqatabad precinct in Karachi and directed the officials concerned to take steps for their safe return to homes.
The Governor contacted Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on phone and stressed for safe and early return of the girls and initiating a probe into the incident.
He directed the officials concerned that girls should not be delivered to irresponsible institutions and hand them over to their parents. He also directed to investigate the matter.
The Governor said that a high level team of FATA officials should be sent to Karachi to bring back the girls.
He also contacted Shahab-ud-din Khan, Member National Assembly from Bajaur, and instructed him to ensure safe and early return of the girls to their homes.
