State Minister for Privatisation Muhammad Zubair said on Tuesday that if the privatisation of KESC now K-Electric did not turn out to be a success story, it did not mean that the rest of power distribution companies should not be privatised. “The government will hand over Lesco, Pesco and Iesco to the private sector at an appropriate time.” he added.
In a press briefing, he said the government has appointed an adviser for the sell-off of Allied Bank shares and the transaction will take place by next month. For the divestment of government-owned shares of Habib Bank, he said a financial adviser would be appointed in the next 15 days, while the sale of 10 percent shares of the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) would be resumed as soon as the market position improved. He said that if PTI chief Imran Khan could not appreciate good deeds, then he has no right to criticise them. He further slammed the PTI chairman, saying that Imran Khan considered himself the jack of all trades.
