KARACHI: Another 2,000 cameras will be installed at 400 new identified locations of Karachi and zonal Command and Control Centers will be set up in the city for effective surveillance and monitoring aimed at ensuring security to life and property of the people.
This was informed during a meeting of a four-member delegation of Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs- Pakistan (INL-P) at embassy of United States of America in Islamabad with Sindh Inspector General of Police Ghulam Hyder Jamali here on Friday, said a press release.
The delegation was headed by Director INL-Pakistan, Alberto Rodriguez.
The meeting discussed in detail the modalities for strengthening and expansion of Command and Control Center at the City Police Office (CPO) for surveillance and monitoring.
The delegation expressed its commitment to assist expansion of the surveillance project.
On this occasion, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was also mutually agreed and signed which meant to install 2000 more cameras at 400 new identified locations of Karachi.
Under the MoU, Zonal Command and Control Centers would also be established in the city which would be directly linked to the Central Command and Control Center at CPO.
The expansion project would be launched shortly.
The delegation also visited Command and Control Center of CPO and appreciated the endeavors of Sindh Police in this regard.
