KARACHI: Two Boeing 737-800 aircraft acquired by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) arrived here at Jinnah International Airport on Wednesday.
These latest technology fuel efficient aircraft have been acquired on wet lease from Turkish based Corendon Airlines.
Managing Director PIA, Shahnawaz Rehman while sharing his views on the arrival of the aircraft, said that these aircraft are being put into operation immediately on domestic and international routes.
He said that PIA plans to induct more fuel efficient aircraft in its fleet which will increase its revenue, provide better services to customers and improve flight schedule for the convenience of its valued passengers.
He said all legal formalities including PPRA rules were fulfilled in acquisition of these aircraft.
As part of revival of PIA programme the national flag carrier is in the process of acquiring fuel efficient aircraft on priority and has floated tenders accordingly.
