KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan Thursday discussed in detail prevailing situation in the province as well as matters related to higher education.
Sindh Higher Education Commission Chairman Dr. Asim Hussain was also present in the meeting held at the Governor House here.
During the meeting, they agreed that higher education will be accorded special importance, and resources will be boosted to improve the quality of education, besides ensuring merit in institutions.
They also expressed resolve to expedite the progress of development projects and release of necessary funds for this purpose.
They also said that vocational education will be aligned with ground realities in order to create better job opportunities for students.
The Governor and the Chief Minister agreed for making practical exams at the engineering, social sciences and agricultural educational institutions result oriented.
They said that research and development will be further promoted at the university level and this research work would be utilised.
