Rs 20 million armed robbery at Edhi Centre in Mithadar

KARACHI:  Bandits took away Rs 20 million cash, over five kilogram’s gold and other valuables from Edhi Centre in Mithadar locality here on Sunday.

Edhi Centre staffer Anwar Kazmi told that more than eight bandits barged into the offices and residence of renowned social worker Maulana Abdul Sattar Edhi in Mithadar and took away cash, gold and other valuables from all the safes after getting keys from Abdul Sattar Edhi.

The Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi, Abdul Qadir Thebo, visited the Edhi Centre in Mithadar after the robbery incident, a police spokesman told.

He said that the AIGP has formed a team headed by DIG South Abdul Khaliq Shaikh to investigate the incident and ordered it to present the report of its findings within 24 hours.
