PTI legislators enjoying facilities despite submitting resignations: Hashmi

MULTAN: Veteran politician and independent candidate for NA-149 Makhdoom Javed Hashmi on Sunday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) legislators were not appearing before the Speaker National Assembly and were enjoying all facilities despite tendering their resignations.

Addressing a press conference here at his residence,Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had thought that the government would change before starting his march from Lahore. Hashmi said that he had suggested to Imran that the Nawaz Sharif’s government would gain strength due to sit-in protests.

He disclosed that Imran Khan had told PTI workers to make preparations for next election in August and added that now Imran Khan was telling people that they should wait till next Eid.

The change could not be brought through sit-ins and public meetings, he said and added that balloting process was the only way for bringing in change.

Hashmi also clarified that he had never demanded presidentship of PTI and also disclosed that Shah Mehmood Qureshi had joined the party on condition of being made vice chairman.

He said that his manifesto was establishment of the seraiki province and added that he would raise voice for the rights of people of this belt. Hashmi said that he would defend the case of whole nation at the National Assembly.

He said that new province should be established and creation of new province would surely help people of this region in protecting their rights.

Hashmi maintained that he would make Multan as city of knowledge, and also ensured expansion of cardiology hospital and establishment of a medical university in Multan.
