Pakistan’s Liquid Foreign Reserves Position

KARACHI: The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$13,210.5 million on September 26,2014,a statement issued by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) here on Thursday said.
The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:

i) Foreign reserves held by the SBP:    US$  8,609.8  million
ii) Net foreign reserves held by banks: US$  4,600.7  million
iii) Total liquid foreign reserves:     US$ 13,210.5  million

During the week ending September 26, 2014, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves decreased by US$18 million to US$8,610 million compared to US$8,628 million in the previous week.

During the week SBP made payments of US$144 million on account of external debt servicing and other official payments, which includes US$143 million paid to IMF under SBA. During the week SBP received $56 million from multilateral, bilateral, and other sources.
