PA condemns India’s unprovoked firing

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Monday passed a unanimous resolution strongly condemning the violation of frontiers and international law by India and her unprovoked firing on civilians.

The joint resolution carrying the signatures of legislators from the opposition and treasury benches was read out by Shah Hussain of JUI-F.

The resolution recommended to the federal government and asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to inform the international community for stopping this provocation in the name of so-called elections in Occupied Kashmir.

The resolution also carried the signatures of (QWP), (JUI-F), (PML-N),  (PPP), (ANP), (PTI), (AJI) and JI members.

The chair put the resolution to vote and the house adopted it unanimously.

Through another unanimously passed resolution, the provincial assembly demanded of the federal government for directing Planning Commission, Islamabad for early approval of PC-I of 84 MW Gorkeen Mataltan Swat and 69 MW Lawi Chitral hydropower projects of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The resolution said that delay in these projects could create problem of law and order besides depriving the people of cheap electricity. The speedy completion of these projects, the resolution said would not only benefit the local population, but also save foreign exchange spent on the import of oil.

The speaker put the resolution to vote and the house adopted it unanimously.

Similarly, through another resolution tabled by Manawar Khan of  JUI-F, the provincial assembly demanded the posting of female staff in NADRA Lakki Marwat Office.
